If Mozilla Firefox cannot download files larger than a certain size, you may need to clear your download history or reset your downloads folder. You may also need to reset Firefox to delete corrupted themes, plugins or extensions. If you run Internet security or virus-scanning software, consider disabling or reconfiguring them, as they can block Internet downloads.
Choosing a different downloads folder may be necessary if there is a problem with your current download folder. Click the "Firefox" menu option at the top of the Firefox window and select "Options." Select the "General" tab. Choose the "Save files to..." option in the Downloads sub-menu. Click the "Browse" button and select a different folder to save files to on your computer. Press "OK" to save your changes.
You may be able to fix download problems by clearing your download history. Click the "Firefox" option at the top of the main Firefox window and click "Downloads" to open the Downloads window. Click the "Clear List" button and close the window.
Mozilla Support states that third-party download manager plugins may affect download performance. A few download manager plugins that may be added to the plugins folder include: GetRight: NPGetRt.dll WinGet: NPWinGet.dll Download Accelerator Plus: npdap.dll FreshDownload: npfd.dll Net Transport: NPNXCatcher.dll, NPNXCatcher(Audio).dll, and NPNXCatcher(Video).dll Remove these plugins by clicking the "Firefox" menu option at the top of the browser window and selecting "Add-ons." Click the "Plugins" tab. Locate each plugin and click "Disable." Try downloading the file again.
Corrupted themes, plugins and extensions can cause problems with downloading files. Mozilla Firefox's reset feature will restore Firefox to its original state while saving information like bookmarks, cookies and browsing history. You can reinstall and upgrade your themes, plugins and extensions after resetting the program. Click the "Firefox" option at the top of the Firefox browser window, hold your mouse over the "Help" arrow and select "Troubleshooting Information." Click the "Reset Firefox" button and wait for Firefox to restore to its default state.
You may have an anti-virus program set to scan files after downloads complete. Downloaded files may not save properly to your computer after the scan finishes. Try disabling virus scanning by typing "about:config" into the URL bar at the top of the Firefox window. Click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button if the "This might void your warranty!" warning appears. Type "browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone" into the Search field in the "about:config" page. Double-click the "browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone" tab and change its value to "False." Be sure to re-enable virus protection immediately after your download task is complete.
Using the Keep Media setting, you can control how long unused media stays on your device. If you haven't accessed a file for the specified time, it is automatically deleted from the cache. Naturally, your data will instantly re-download from the cloud the moment you access it again. 041b061a72
